I have a 255 lph fuel pump. Depending on which correction factor is used I'm running 383 (SAE) or 396 (STD) rwhp without any problems. Here is another option that I've been looking at should I need it later. Its a Walbro 290 lph fuel pump. That should be plenty for the 400-425 rwhp you mentioned.

Walbro TU229HP High Performance Fuel Pump Kit for 01-04 Ford Mustang from Fuel-Pumps.net

I would look at it in retrospect of cost cause most pump setups will support 425 hp.

Bap 250 new (stock pump may support with bap)
Division x pump 150 new
Used dual cobra pumps 200 + 100 with fuel level float
Svt pump cheap is 80 but may still need a bap.

Modifications are easy. Hell if he is worried about it he can get a basket from a junk yard for a few bucks
