GT vs Bullitt?
Just curious. What is the difference between a GT and a Bullitt? And is it worth paying more to get a Bullitt over a GT?

5 HP, better intake, better stock shocks, different side skirts, exclusivity, resale value, different interior
I wouldnt unless you plan on keeping it forever for collectability or just buying a GT for a while and hoping to get some more money back out of it

biggest thing going for them is resale value and the fact that there was only so many of them made. personally i would like to have one. they have better shocks/struts, better exhaust, 13" brakes with the Bullitt specific calipers (red with the running pony) different side scoops, side skirts, factory spoiler delete, an aluminum intake manifold with a twin 57mm throttle body (like on the 4v 4.6's)
last but not least is the interior. seats/gauge cluster and such. nice cars, i like all the little touches they come with from the factory. i would be willing to pay a little more for a bullitt than a standard GT.

Thanks guys.
What would be a good price deal for a lower mileage Bullitt? Are they the same stock ride height ad the GT or are they lowered at all? Seems like the Bullitt is the equivalent of the 2007 Shelby GT vs the normal GT. |

they are a bit lower than a regular GT. i'm thinking they had a different spring in them than the GT's got.
also, i'm not 100% sure but maybe they had 3.55 gears in then too ??? depends who is selling it (private or dealer) and exactly how many miles. i would expect to pay in the 10-111K ballpark if it is at a dealer and in decent condition. otherwise, you could get a better deal with a private seller. probably like 8K.

The bullit sits .5" lower than the gt. I would get the GT because you will most likely change the exhaust on both and add better sub-frame connectors. The intake manifold looks really cool for sure, but with a GT you can buy the TB, UP, and CAI and probably get about the same flow. That's my opinion. The bullits are very nice though. I just don't think they are worth the price difference. The are not that superior to the GT stock for stock IMO.

If your concerned about collectability or exclusivity then get the Bullitt. It has a some worthwhile performance mods such as brakes and suspension, but it also has the 2V which is somewhat limited performance wise. If your looking to make big HP numbers, get Mach I or Cobra with a 4V.

There's a lot that comes on the bullitt that most people would upgrade on their regular GTs anyway, plus a nice leather interior.

I have always loved the bullitt seats ans am still looking for some. As far as price goes just look around a bit. I have a friend looking at a Bullitt this sunday that has 60K miles and he talked the guy down to $8200. I was always kinda dissappointed at how close the Bullitt was to the GT in hp terms. I mean the next fastest was the Cobra with 320hp. So they could have given the Bullitt like 290hp and been a nice in between car from the GT and Cobra.

A lot of guys on the bullitt forums had their stock cars dynoed and all of them came out about 10hp (to the crank) over what the manufacturer rated them for. So they'd be around 270-275 to the crank, and the power curve is improved throughout the RPM band... not just at peak HP. Also the intake shines with a centri

Every Bullitt I see come up for sale around here cost about the same as a regular GT. With these cars being used, I would just get whatever you find the best deal on. Most of these cars are gonna have a few mods done to them by now and a lot of the Bullitt add-ons can be added fairly easy. My car had full bolt ons(minus headers) installed, 3.73 gears, lowering springs and aftermarket wheels. So although it's just a regular GT, it was far from stock.

Yup lol. I'll probably end up just looking for a GT and a Bullitt and whichever fits my price range and is in the best condition I'll jump on. There's one for sale locally with 60k miles but the dude is asking 15k LOL |

^Exactly why in my eyes i see the little (sometimes, if any) extra cost of the bullitt is worth it. think of the brakes, the side skirts, the seats and the other little trim pieces that you would otherwise have to buy aftermarket or look for used if you wanted them for your GT. a set of seats alone will get you $800 in the used market, the brakes (rotors/calipers and caliper brackets) go for 300~ish and wthe bullitts were the only ones to have the running pony on them...just some food for thought
