Best Axles?

Well I'm looking at going to a junkyard and pulling a 31 spline t-loc from an explorer since my diff is going out. I have new clutches for it and a full install kit, now I'm just looking for a set of axles. Anyways the question is what's better? Superior, Moser, Yukon, or FRPP? Then to top it off, what's the cheapest place anyone knows to get a set?

Ok, ok, I know I'm posting too much on my own tread, but I found these Alloy Axles http://www.pfeifferperformance.com/p...products_id=87 ....with a 10yr. No questions asked warranty, for only $210. Anyone tried these or heard of them?

That sounds like it'll pretty much hold up to what I plan on throwing at it. Thanks.

No, I was going to get them.... A blown diff bearing made me change my plans though. So I'm looking at bullet proofing my rear-end now.

That's great, I'm pretty much going to be running the same set-up but with a 31 spline Traction-Lok with carbon clutches.

Should be fine for a bolt-on mustang launching on slicks, with 100 shot in the future?

You'll be fine. I was spraying a 125 shot out of the hole and will now be running a 200 shot.

im also running moser axles, and launching a 6400rpms itll bring the front tires off the ground slightly but i also had a problem when installing ym mosers, one wwas about a 1/8" l;onger than the other one and caused the caliper mount to rub into the disk brake. so i had to shim the caliper out. if i was ognna do it again id prolly go strange

I have run Moser 31 splines and 31 spline trac lok from an exploder. The diff was purchased off of ebay and was supposedly rebuilt with heavy duty clutches. The diff lasted 1 season launching at 6500 on slicks. I installed a Detroit Truetrac last weekend with Strange 31 spline axles. I will abuse them just like the Mosers. You can't go wrong with either. Just make sure they are forged 31 splines and you should be fine. The stock 28 splines are cast which makes them extremely brittle.

Well, I just need the TracLoc to last a year out here in Cali. The nearest strip is about an hour and a half away so I really don't go that often. When I move back to Oklahoma next summer I'm going to throw an Eaton in 'cause the track is nearer.
