More than that could be made with better heads and cams though. Navi heads are far from ideal, 03+ c heads will not only make more power, but actually match the ports for the boss290 intake. I was really hoping for 450ish with the right cam before I bailed on C heads and only +030 over on the bore. 450 for a properly setup NA 5.4 is not unreasonable, its just a hassle dealing with the intake and exhaust fitment.

There is a article on the new 4.6/5.0 fast ford mustangs that started with I think the new boss 5.0 block and used a livernois crank with a 3.750 stroke and a 3.70 inch bore that give u 323 ci or 5.3 L. They used forged diamond pistons and Manley h beam rods. They used the 03/04 4 valve cobra heads did a Cnc port and polish job and 5 angle valve job as well. The cams were a stage 3 I believe Custome grind 238/238 at 0.050 and 113.5 LSA. And a 0.475 inch lift. After the tune and dyno testing it made 519 hp and 471 tq and revs up to almost 8k so it's not easy to achieve those numbers but it can be done without boost or spray. I'm not sure how much they spent on the engine but I'd say 10-12k worth or parts. I'm sure the 2v would be much lower in peak power numbers but 500+ hp na on a 4v is doable. How much do u think a 2v could achieve

2v is all about how deep your pockets are and streetability.. im sure you could make big power with 13:1 Compression Crazy Cams and a Carb but thats also expensive and not ideal for another other than a race car... if you want to keep it off the shelf <400 NA is all you can do with a 2v 4.6
