New Guy - Is my car tuned?
I just bought an 02' GT a few months ago. Its my second car (weekend driver) and will make a great platform for what I have planned. Its a 5 speed with a short throw, cobra wheels, o/r H pipe and flowmasters. Its also lowered. I watched the odometer tick over to 40k on the drive home from purchasing.
I have a question thats been nagging me. How do i know if this car has a tune or not? No cats-no CEL...so is there a way to find out if it has a tune? I bought it privately, got a great deal and asked the guy about it. He said "it came that way" as its had 3 PO's. Ive been running 91 octane to be safe and would like to know if thats really necessary. Thanks in advance! -Ryan |

if you have no cats and no cel you either have a mil eliminators installed or b a tune with cats turned off, 9/10 wouldnt tune just the cats out imo

Some cars don't throw a code, like mine I have a o/r x pipe no mil eliminators and not tune.
it never threw a code and I've been driving it like that for a couple years now.
