On3 t76 for now, who'd do this?
Was very happy with my most recent dyno (504/501) however it's very obvious the On3 t70 is restrictive with 3" exhaust housing on a 5.0l stroker engine and an upgrade is needed. I'm wanting to save towards a real quality turbo however, came across this option to keep me happy while I save. It's the On3 t76 turbo that I can swap in for my current t70 and it sells brand new from them for $319 on eBay. I'd normally say that's junk and compared to some it may be, it just so happens another guy that goes to my tuner has that turbo on his built 99 vert (on chrome 20's
). anyways Travis said the turbo is significantly better and the bigger exhaust housing really would work better with my engine and I could leave it at 12 psi and see a good jump in power. I'm pretty much 99% certain I'm doing this because of the cost and opportunity, I just wanted anybody else's advice, opinion, and if possible experience. As always, Thanks my friends.Joshua http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj77/on3p/1-1.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj77/on3p/3-1.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj77/on3p/photo3.jpg On 3 Performance New 76mm Turbocharger Perfect for your On 3 Performance upgrade, Custom Mustang, LSx, ect Build Also Check Out Our Other Auctions For 5.0/4.6 Mustang Turbo Systems This is a new product from On 3 Performance and In-stock and shipping daily. On of the first cars our turbo was tested on was a 93 Cobra, 347ci and going 10.1x's on 8psi. No physical dyno numbers on that specific car but this car was running 13psi on our 70mm On 3 Performance turbo prior to the upgrade to accomplish almost identical track number More Turbo Specs Cold Side: Compressor Wheel 76mm .80 a/r 4” Inlet and 2.5” Compressor Outlet Inducer- 76.71mm Exducer- 102.36mm Exhaust Side: Exhaust Housing T-4 Flanged Divided Available in 2 A/R sizes - .68 or .81 3.0" Vband outlet Inducer- 74.5mm Exducer- 60.56mm |

You're throwing this at your stock engine? If so, you are pushing the limits man

I'm with Stal (as usual) I would just save for a 70mm precision. I think the stock cams and heads are more of a restriction then the turbo. Your making good power. I say just enjoy that for a little bit, then when you do the new turbo it'll be more worth it.

Why don't you just get some turbo cams, and new heads for now? Then get a new turbo later on.

Thanks for everyone else input I was just curious and appreciate the advice. I have been price 2 turbo's both quotes $1600 or greater so was looking for a little more power until then. I'll leave it be for now, hope everyone else projects are going well. Thanks Joshua |
