That looks like shit! I went from a set of straight through mufflers to these and didn't notice any loss of power, so i'm not really worried. I went from Flowmaster 40's to a straight through muffler and noticed no power change either. I don't really worry about all the bullcrap I read about flow anyways, until someone shows me proof that it really causes a noticeable power loss. Then I am gonna run whatever I think sounds best.

Well if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, there are tests published that show power losses and gains depending on the muffler you run. Will you notice these on your butt dyno? Probably not. Will you notice on a low hp car? Chances are no. But if you're trying to squeeze out every last HP, then there are mufflers for that. There was a good year or two where I was obsessed how mufflers work. To me, it was a science and even sort of an art work on how mufflers work and what you can do to change sound. To me, exhaust notes are music. The player is the engine and the instrument is the muffler. It crazy how something simple as a muffler swap can change the whole feel of a car. Anyways, I've posted a chart below that is famous on the web. Are the results true to the real world? I read this was on a blown race motor, but you get the idea. I am really curious to know exactly which Flowmaster and which Spintech was tested

I liked the different sound that th x had. plus when looking and reading about the design it seems to flow beeter than the h. more like the exhaust is merging and pulling itself through the pipes in the X vs bouncing off eachother in the H design. Why whats wrong with the X pipe? Im Not saying that I dont like the deep sound of the H bc i do.

I did the same thing on my mustang and our trailblazer ss went from flows to a str8 through design on both of them and the power loss was obvious to me. Before saying anything to the wife i asked her to just take both of them for a ride and she also noticed it before i mentioned to her that i noticed it. So went back with a chambered muffler on both and there was clearly a difference. That was with a 4.6 and the other an ls2.

just like before when i went str8 pipe on my mustang itt felt very sluggish. Even tried it on my bike same results. But that all goes into a debate thats never ending about velocity and what not. Thats for another thread i guess

I bought some knock off flowmaster 10 series 1 chamber mufflers off ebay about 4 months ago. The were called Insynerator Race Series mufflers and I picked them up for 40$ each. If i can figure out how to post videos you can hear them with a catless x pipe and LT headers.

Also, I think the company name tht made them was like lawson automotive or something but again I bought them off ebay.

Not sure if this video will work but...
