Mustang progress

Well, today I'm one step closer getting the mustang back in shape.

I bought the car with a light rear end collision damage.

Bumper damage

Removed skulls, and gold tint.

Removed the trailer lighted gt deal.

Looks off but Rest of the car is dirty. Paint matches.

I used quiksteel to fill the holes in the trunk lid, and sanded it down.
I ran out of time to finish the trunk. It'll be done and installed tomorrow afternoon.
Bought the bumper for 35.00 and the trunk lid for 50.00.

Getting the fender pulled next week for. 250. Then it'll be painted sonic blue after the body shop gets the fender pulled and bondo'd up.

Just got the windows tinted 20% tonight as well. It's slowly starting to look like a mustang again.

Looking good man. Why repaint everything sonic blue right after you just painted your other parts black? Black or blue its a nice car

I'm waiting to get the fender pulled out before I reprint the car. Going black in the mean time so I don't drive around with primer trunk and bumper.

I love black with chrome wheels. But my paint is 12 years old and you can tell the difference between the old and new paint. It's just SOO hard to keep black clean and swirl marks so up easy. I live on a 1/4 mile dirt driveway so that doesn't help either. Plus sonic blue is just pure sex.

I wish I had a huge shop. I just pull my car into my work an use their paint booth whenever I need to. One of the supervisors has a side painting business and uses the booth too.

Curious as to what you paid and the mileage?

Here's how I got the mustang:

Bought a 02 wrx. Sold it for 5250 owed 3040
With the ~2000 profit I bought a 1994 z28 (174k)

Traded the z28 a few months later for a 01 silverado 2500hd (540k)
Paint was rough so I primered the truck and traded that for the mustang with 217k

I traded the truck with the paint still wet.

I didn't want another car payment so I decided to keep trading cars until I got into something I liked. I'll prob be murdered for saying this but. I've always hated mustangs with a passion. Only because they are everywhere! But I finally gr into a z28 and hated the interior quality. Friend had a 07 whippled gt. so I came across a stang that had potential.

Im a huge mustang fan now. I have learned a lot in the short time of ownership from everyone on MM.

I'd like to hear some input from you guys. How did you fill your spoiler holes? I've used the quiksteel to temp seal a massive exhaust leak and decided to use that on the trunk lid. So far it seems to be holding. I just didn't know how a body shop does it the right way since its fiberglass.

Truck had a 6.0 gas.

Yes, 217 is high. But it's paid off so I can fix anything that breaks and put a mmr750 or 900 in when the motor finally goes. But, I take care of all my cars and see at least a year outta this motor. I have no idea if it's been rebuilt, trans is out of a 98cobra and unknown if rear end has be rebuilt neither. But I've got 4.10's and a rebuild kit ready to be installed.

Yes, sonic blue is sex. ESP this one:

Thank you. Even though it's got high miles it's fine with me. I could go out and buy a low mileage gt if I wanted to buy man I love out right owning a car.

I used fiberglass. Because it's glass you repair it with glass.

Got a chance to test fit the trunk lid. A dumb ass at work decided to remove the plastic covering and didnt replace it after he lokked at it and got overspray all over the freshly painted lid. So it's going back into paint this weekend.

It shows how much the fender needs to be pulled up.

Sanded the lid again, showing gaps
