Quick short shifter question.

This might be a dumb question but if my 3rd gear synchro is messed up and i install a short shifter, will it hurt the shifter at all? I'll have a new tranny coming soon but the shifter is just sitting here tempting me to put it on. Just was curious if it would damage it at all?

I don't see how it could? I also could be wrong though.

No. It won't hurt the shifter. It might aggrevate getting into third but it won't hurt the shifter.

no, the blocker ring has nothing to do with the shifter. Your shifter will be fine and you dont have to worry about it being damaged. It is totally isolated from the internals of the trans

I agree, it will not hurt anything. But I did the same thing as you're doing TrueBlue. I got a mgw before I rebuilt my tranny, said screw it, and installed the shifter anyways. Wasn't any different going into third gear.

Of course not. The blocker ring ins wore not not allowing the gear to slow down fast enough for proper rev match. That's why the grind. Only one fix for it
