Replacing valve covers

Prob a stupid question, but how difficult is it to replace the valve covers on our cars? I've never touched that part of my engine dress-up, so im not sure how it goes. But anyway, I'm picking up some black/green valve covers in a few days and I think it will look great because the car is amazon green.

cake. they look buried but its easy. pull your air intake off, unplug your injectors and cops, pop the harness out of the way and a few other minor obstacles to remove. other than that each valve cover( actually a cam cover) should have 11 bolts if your motor is a romeo. otherwise 13 bolts. i had to lift the front of the cover up first and pull forward. it can be kinda tricky. they may seem stuck in there but its kind of a puzzle untill you figure out how to get them out. lol

Are there any gaskets that we need to replace when doing so? I am also thinking about getting a new pair of covers from AM. So basically just unbolt, and bolt back on?

technically i think they are supposed to be reusable as long as you clean everything up before reinstalling them. i did and had no leaks. but i was on a slim budget at the time. so i would suggest spendin the ten bucks or whatever for some good felpro's. and yes...off then back on. dont forget to plug everything back in though lol

also get some black rtv silicone to seal the spot where the timing cover meets the head. just squeeze a dab on there before you drop the covers back on. you should be able to see the exact spots from the factory where they used black silicone. its sticking out of the cover in the front and back of each cover.
