yes stal it is a 01 cobra motor. AND YES. im hoping to find a used kenne bell complete setup, and have a zex wet kit all together by summer! thanks for all the support guys

Mother fucker! Started the car tonight. Garage filled with steam after she warmed up. Coolant sky rocketed out of radiator. exhaust tasted like anti freeze. All signs point to blown head gasket. God damnit cant fucking win with this damn car

True story. Can't be much worse than a snapped crank bolt and a broken head cooling fitting.

Think of it as practice. Lots and lots of practice. By the time you're done you'll probably be able to build a Cobra motor and swap one into the car blindfolded in a weekend.

...and I hope I don't get any unpleasant surprises this weekend. No headgaskets and no head tick. Although I got video of the engine running before I got it and the only thing I did was cams. I must have checked my work about 20x on the cams.

I have a pair of cop covers if you need them. Im pretty sure the ones from a 97 mark 8 4v will fit. If they do there yours.

Im going to run the 2 coil/wire set-up. So i dont need them. Just send me a PM if you want them.

Also there is a guy close to me on craigslist selling the stock eaton off a termi for 350 i believe.

Only question i have. The hydraulic valve lash adjuster is ticking? One suggestion was to up the oil to 5-30 instead of 5-20..thoughts?

I went with 5w-30 anyway. The drop to 5w-20 was mainly for fuel economy improvement.

I'm not sure how much difference that will make with the last adjuster. At least changing them is fairly easy.


btw- got mine started last weekend. Going to try for a longer run tomorrow and get it on video. It sounds absolutely evil.

lol ill try and post a vid once i get my magnapacks on. Will i have any big issues with the last adjuster ticking? any many things to worry about? you cant hear it outside the car. just turn the radio up if anything for now
