Got engine fixed - not quite the same

okay so long story short i blew a piston and had it replaced and the cylinder re-honed, picked it up today and its not quite right, when i first picked it up it felt great, anyways with further driving started to notice the transmission (what i feel is the trans) feels like it bounces around when i hit bumps/dips w/e, the more noticeable issue is that the tranny makes a ticking sound, kind of like the sound when you are being pulled up a roller coaster on the chain, tinktinktink when i drive, feels quite terrible for the car and just not good. Third problem being when i start the car sounds slow-motion almost, not a strong start-up, whats up with all this? anyone else have experience with these issues?

Thanks a ton ^^

reputable shop? check all fluids and such when you got it back? For the first 2 issues i would get under it and look at your engine/trans mounts they may be worn or installed incorrectly. For the start-up issue, maybe try the starter first.

take it back, slow crank could just be a battery if it does it cold. Or It could also be a timing issue..... Are you positive the ticking noise is from the trans and not the engine??

The problem is you didn't attach a kenne bell ..but on a serious note. if your able to jack the car up. get underneath her and see if you can get to your bell housing. Make sure all the bolts are on and snug. To often bell housing bolts get lost or not tightened down all the way because of some of the angles. Especially if the motor came out and in seperate from the transmission. Just a thought.

^or, if they came out together, check the trans mount...you have to drop that down to be able to get the motor/trans out together.

was everything put back together using all OEM parts???

when i swapped the 4v in my GT, i noticed it cranks a wee bit slower but i think thats mostly due to the bump in compression i got from the swap.

i feel pretty positive its the trans, kinda sounds like its coming from right underneath shifter, also sounds like its coming from underneath the car, what could cause the timing problem to happen, possible my sct tune is bad? THanks

Will look into it, didn't notice any leaking or anything you think that could cause a ticking? seems like it's in the possible location of the sound.

Edit: i'm not even sure if the manifolds were disconnected from the midpipe, only from the block.

that wouldnt make much sense if you pulled the motor... manifolds are a bitch to take off with the motor in the car... much easier to pull the motor with them in and much more sensible.. therefore i believe it was taken off at the mid-pipe.. and yes you would def hear a ticking at low idle, and as idle went up you would hear it go faster and it would probably "go away" at high idle if you have a loud exhaust... which is like anything but stock on our cars... so yeah id def check that for a tick.
