Fuel pump not working

Ok,

Car died out on me on Thursday, had a mechanic look at it. Told me it was the fuel pump. I bought a new pump at Advanced Auto Parts, dropped the tank swapped it out, but nothing. I went back in the tank and I couldn't here it turning on when i turned over the ignition.

Checked the fuse in the engine bay, it was good. Got a pen light volt tester thing and it apparently the tank was getting power, I don't know how much voltage but there was something. I took the pump back out and connected it directly to the car's battery and it worked. No clue as to what to do next. Help plz

Would the Constant Control Relay Module have anything to do with this? I had my AC stop working a little while ago and I think it was due to it blowing a fuse there. And throughout December my car did hesitate here and there to start so maybe it was an ongoing thing

Did you check the inertia shut off switch in the trunk? It's a little black box by the drivers tail light with a red button in it looking down from the top...button should be pressed down- then I would say to check the fpdm- mine had a hot ground and was doublin the voltage to the pump- I had 90psi base fuel pressure!

Yeah I checked the Inertia switch. What's the FPDM, where is it located?

Fuel Pump Driver Module - Basically it supplies and controls power to your fuel pump. It is located in the trunk behind the carpet paneling on the left. It is a about 3x3 with one plug connected to it. Try pulling the connector off and using some contact cleaner on the pins/sockets. There is also a way to test it with a multimeter, but im not sure exactly which pins to check...google it I know that if the fpdm is getting more than 10.5 volts coming in and the pump is not receiving said voltage, the fpdm is bad.

9 out of 10 the FPDM committed suicide.

I got a used one for $65 off of some dude on Craigslist. I don't really know how much they run for and it was the most convenient. However, some of the cables in the fuel pump assembly were holding onto dear life by a thread so I ended up changing the entire assembly which cost $230 I believe. Sucked, I had to take that away from the money I had saved for a blower

Sorry to hear about replacing the entire module. At least you found out the cause of the problem and got it resolved.
