To give OP an idea, here is my dyno sheet from about a month ago for my 2001 bullitt with a JLT Ram air intake, O/R X pipe, and a flowmaster american thunder catback. I've beat SRT4's off the hole, and S2000's with full bolt ons. Hope it helps in your decision.

Edit: Torque is a little low, should be around 305 ft/lb's. Remember, engine has 114k miles,so piston rings are a little worn out.

Thanks for posting this. Nice looking numbers.

@steed43-I know you said you unsubscribed, but if you happen to check back in, this doesn't look like 230rwhp to me. Go do some research before you go calling a Bullitt just a rare gt, there's more than meets the eye.

@op- any new information on what you're going to do?

I say go get a Mach or early cobra if you are financially able to. Although it will be rougher to come up with the money you'll have the power your looking for with less effort and when that's no longer enough you'll have more potential.

With that said I agree about getting you debt straight first. I have never had a car payment and it is a great thing. My girl has a car payment and every month we have to come up with 350 on top of our other bills. It kind of sucks. And you have to keep full coverage on the car while your paying it off. I think you should keep full coverage no matter what but its nice to be able to lower it if things get tight.

Sadly the Bullitt is not much more than a Gt. They are rare and look cool as shit but there really isn't much to buy to make your gt look like a Bullitt probably cost less too. Keep your car an fix the problems with upgrades. Get a credit card and use it for parts slowly, make every payment don't be late, And you'll be able to build credit quick. Plus you'll have a sleeper since everyone thinks gt's are slow.

I love my True Blue Bullitt. Bought it with 86,000 miles for 8995.00.

The car already has 3.73's in it too so that is a plus.

What? Im not saying a Bullitt is 10x the car a GT is but i do know it will cost a decent buck to convert a GT to a bullitt

interior,exterior,brakes,suspension,intake ect.....all that sh1t will add up

How about a 99/01 Cobra? Seems like those fall between the Bullitt and Mach 1 in pricing.

I own a blue mach 1 and a blue bullitt. I got the mach 1 first cuz its my garage queen/weekend warrior, but I always wanted a bullitt since the first day I rode in it. so i got a slightly hammered but great drivetrain/ perfect interior 128k miles clear title for $4500 last month. anyway, the bullitt is rare and if you want it for that reason,I'd get one.

It makes the power quicker and has its feature mods. anyway, the bullitt is rare and if you want it for that reason,I'd get one.
Whaaa? How on earth is a Bullitt faster than a Cobra that has a 50hp advantage?

The article says the Bullitt, cuz of its intake manifold, special in take, and tuned exhaust, lets the engine rev and get the max torque early in the powerband. (lower rpm's) they actually pulled their numbers and the cobra test numbers from the factory were a tick slower than the bulllitt. these test drivers really dialed in the numbers.the article that someone a few posts up told you to read from 5.0 magazine august 2003, tells all the details

I did the process backwards. most would buy a GT or bullitt then get a Mach 1. I mostly got the bullitt cuz I already had the mach 1 that I could pull out as a "faster" car. I learned over time, that fast is fun, but you use a rare car for fun more that a racer unless you are way into racing and looking for cars to kill. ( that topic has been beat to death on this thread)
