What Do I Need To Whoop 350Z's/240SX's


Hey whats up I work @ Nissan currently and always getting talked alot of shit to because I have my mustang Lol,

I wanted to know what would I need to beat a 350Z [ Any Year, Stock-Lightly Modded]

And 240SX [ With SR30 SWAP ]
I raced one on the highway before the whole engine rebuilt process
.. from a 3rd gear roll [60-100] I was ahead of him til towards the end of 3rd and he started pulling away, Im guessing the turbo kicked in..

What Ive done is..
Weight Reduction
Stage 2 Clutch kit
Cold air intake
Deleted A/C hardware and have free spinning pulley..
283 Short block
Ported&Polished PI Heads
Upgraded PI Manifold
Mid Pipe/Mufflers

pretty much it.. I was going to go for.. 410s/C&L Plenum/lower rear control arms

Well my friend races me at the drag strip with his 350z. I have a CAI and Exhaust, and he is bone stock. His 350 runs 14.4-14.6 so you won't have to do anything to beat a 350, idk for the 240's though.

i really dont want to do nitrous..

Maybe might get my hands on a SVT Eaton and try to do the swap.. but for now im looking at more bolt ons than anything.. No power adders.

Do the rest of the bolt ons and gears and you'll definitely have the 350, especially since you have head work done...

Put gears in. The eaton swap kit is 1200 dollars, then you need the used m112, throttle body, injecters, fuel pump, maf. All that for a crappy eaton that cobra guys get rid of cause it sucks

I would assume at the track with your mods you would be low 13s but you said 14.2 which is what most run stock.

Don't ported/pullied Eatons on 4vs make around 520rwhp? I wouldn't say it's that crappy but compared to a Whipple I'd imagine it is!

Sure guys peak out decent numbers out of a ported eaton, but they generate so much heat that the power does not last long. The problem still exists with whipplesuperchargers and kb but not nearly as bad and they accualy don't produce as much heat cruising around

350z/G35's are easy to beat with just some gears and bolt ons (if you can drive)
No idea on 240's

Real men race on the track (or at least from a stop)

X2 they aren't as fast as people think. Not the 350 and new 370 I ran at the track anyway. I beat the new 370 by a car length or two. He came back fifteen minutes later and asked me for a rematch....must have left to get his bottle cuz he beat me by a car length
