I live in Michigan also. I have done cats without mufflers, mufflers without cats, open header, and full exhaust on different vehicles. For an aggressive sound without power loss or smell do the cats but, no muffler. If you want a headache and to spend a lot of time at the side of the road talking to officers do straight pipes.

Sound between catted and non catted is similar to muffler and no muffler. A good way to get the popping/ crackling is no crossover. Duals divorced will give the exhaust a straight path without the pulse canceling and scavenging of a X or H piped dual. There will be a performance trade off of torque and horsepower.

I have a Bassani catted X and it WILL trip the CEL. Even with high flow single cats, its very possible you will still need a tuner to turn off the CEL or MIL eliminators. The sound is ultra smooth and mellow with no drone...and its plenty loud for my tastes.

Why AM even features it is beyond me. But apparently people like it? Not to sure. UPR? Never heard of that unless I'm just completely missing the whole thing all together since it's getting so late for me.
your missing out. upr has some pretty good stuff. you can make offers on their products for less than listed price

I'm kind of leaning towards the X-pipe without the cats. But the only question is. What brand? Any good suggestions anyone? It's a Automatic [ Sadly ] But I'm decent with what I'm doing going through the gears, and my timing all the way up till drive. I'm actually pretty quick on the light, and shift timing.

These represent exhaust from engine all the way to exit.

There are only a few ponies difference on a mustang dyno (at least) between catted vs. o/r..... so don't let that be a deal breaker. I've compared the results. So small you can't feel the difference. lol

go o/r x or o/r h. I have custom straight back piping right now but had a upr x pipe on it before I got long tubes. I live in a pretty small town and don't get many complaints except from the occasional fairy that complains about everything. huge difference in sound too. amazing sound with o/r exhaust.

Go with the x pipe man. You'll want it too be louder after you've had your high-flows on for a while.

I'm thinking either the upr one or bbk [ Since I have an auto sadly or I'd go with Bassani ]. Any good reviews from anyone on either or bad ones?

I'd go with UPR or Bassani. I don't like BBK off road pipes, they have a more raspy sound than others.

Get the o/r, IMO they are great for cruising, gives a great sound on start up and when you put your foot in it - loud! As for the smell, you'll love it ...
