03 5.1 project

So i have an 03 gt and want to put a different motor in. I was looking into a 5.1 stroker. i saw a couple of videos of what these motors can do but im looking for inputs on anyone that has done one of these swaps and if there is other motors that i should check out.

To steer you in the right direction, we really need to know what you hope to accomplish.

Are you looking for more power? If so, forced induction or nitrous is going to be cheaper and give you more power in the long run.

Do you have a bad motor and NEED to put a new one in? If so, get something with a forged bottom end. Stroker motors do give a little boost in power, but again...some sort of power adder is going to be the most economical route to power.

If you're just looking for something to work on and have no respect for cost, by all means put a stroker rotating assembly in a Boss block (5.3L) with some high compression. This will be expensive, however.

Take a look at MMR for an idea on shortblock/longblock pricing.

Cost me $3600cdn for the shortblock and all the gaskets and small stuff needed was another few hundred. Built and installed myself so no idea on the cost of that but I'm very happy with it. Broke it in by driving the balls out of it with 13psi and not an issue yet

i was hoping to keep it an N/A motor and cost isnt really an issue for me i was hoping for at least 350 or more out of it and bullet2875 i agree i wanna see some numbers to see what these motors can do and i will be putting forged internals in it since there would maybe be a KB in the future
