ive done just a quick little bit of research for you and I've come to my conclussion(without checking too far) that it is a common problem for the coolant sensor to go bad on these and need replaced. You cant just buy the sensor though you have to buy the whole tank.

How long has it been since you changed your coolant? I had the same problem with my car, believe it or not, if your coolant is weak or has more water than coolant the level in the coolant reservoir will sink to the bottom and stay there.. Change your coolant and it should fix the problem. It did for my Mustang and my Dads.

someone correct me if i am wrong, which i may be, so this is more like a question. I thought the way the sensor worked was by passing an electrical current(or something like) from one end of the sensor to the other. and that is used the coolant to transfer the flow. and that unplugging it wouldn't work.. this is what i thought but i could be wrong or am not wording it properly

If you have a tuner you can clear it, but it may just come right back on. I would pull the gauges out and pop that bulb out. I keep an eye on my temps and collant levels though.

its a float, when the floats up, it reads/see's full. When it drops its empty, or too much water, as stated above.

They are prone to getting stuck and not moving. Give the tank a light tap and see if it loosens up, if not, get a screw driver etc and just give it a wiggle through the filler cap

Haven't heard of that. I can check to see if that works tomorrow afternoon if not ill just un plug it again lol I got my oil changed the other day and he told me I had to get a whole new tank and sensors... Sounds like you don't have to be that smart to be a mechanic in Missouri :p
