Opinions on engine paint
While I have everything clean, what would you guys do? I have the block, timing cover, heads, valve covers I can paint. My MMR oil pan is red and blower black. I like the look of the aluminator engine and was thinking of just doing the valve covers in that color blue. I also like some different things though like that black cobra with the green blower and calipers. That looked sick. Just shoot me some different ideas and maybe I'll do something I hadn't thought of. Thanks

That's what I was thinking. But it's gonna be tough to see both at the same time, and if it was up to me, I would've gotten the oil pan in blue or black but they don't make them in blue and I got it cheaper through MMR from a friend of a friend. Saved me a good deal and it was still brand new

Just do it before you install the engine, lol. You don't want to change your mind latter and then pull the pan to repaint it..

i like this idea too. i would do a red/wrinkle black combo. except maybe the timing cover. i think a regular gloss black would be fine for that.

There is actually a girl by me that has a completely custom pink gt that I believe is nationally known and she uses it for breast cancer awareness. She drove it I believe cross-country to raise money

i think you should do your eaton like this one
Painted my Steggy Eaton with Krylon Wrinkle Paint - SVTPerformance i have spent alot of time looking through pages upon pages of engine bay pictures lol. i too am in the same boat because i wanted to get rid of my gaudy hideous yellow under the hood which is now officially DONE.

Well the blower is already black and wouldn't be hard to change later if I wanted. The block and timing cover and heads on the other hand, not so much.

I'd say don't paint the block or heads. If you do, go with a light color, not black. If you paint them black, forget about finding leaks.
Fun fact: Cummins marine paints all their engines white to aid in finding leaks. I'd say do the valve covers/timing cover/blower/accessories to match the car, then do things like coil covers to be an "accent" color. Then again if you did that, it'd be the same as mine. Minus my fugly iron block.
