Missing under load, raw gas smell at idle, COP issue?

1999 Mustang GT, CAI going into fenderwell, no other engine mods.

So it's been warm up here in Minnesota, so I pulled the Mustang out last weekend and took it for a drive on Sunday. Started missing mid drive, no CEL, but I did notice a smell of raw gas. Car has 115K on the clock, Probably still on original plugs, and it has a mix and match set of coils, 5 OEM, 2 Accel, 1 MSD.

I'm going to go ahead and clean the MAF (any reccomendations as what to use? I have electronic contact cleaner here at work, or if there is a specific product I'll get some), pull and change the plugs (if needed, and I will check the gap as well), and I'm wondering if my SCT will tell me what is misfiring without a CEL, or should I go ahead and just replace all 8 since it's not too bad. If I replace all 8, do I go with the Accel set on AM's site, or do I go to Rock Auto and get one of their brand. I noticed no Motorcraft brand on Rock Auto.

Any other possibilities? I'll check to make sure there's no water in the plug wells too.

Thanks in advance.

I run jegs brand cops on my car they are great and cheap, but I have only ran them for about 5000 miles, most will say if you have the money buy the motorcraft cops they are suppose to be the most reliable, as far as the Maf it sounds like the cleaner you have should do fine, and I would recommend NGK plug for the car and just get the coppers!

I hear good things about NGK as well, but I also hear good things about the stock Motocraft ones too. I'll price them up and listen to other opinions. I'll also check out the JEGS coils.

Thanks.

Found the problem... The previous owner put a coil back in that had no boot. No idea how it ran so long without it, but she's running on all 8 now.

Is it normal for the stock PI intake to slightly shroud the spark plug well on the second to last plug on the passenger side? Thought that was odd.

Yes I believe it is normal. If you can post a pic maybe. I dont know if the 99 intakes were alittle different than the 2002's I believe they are slightly different in some areas other than the cross member where the thermostat sits.

I was getting cold at that point, so I put changing that plug for another day. All the rest of the plugs were in great shape, just had mileage on them, so I figured leaving it in for a test run wouldn't hurt anything. Not quite sure there's enough room for a standard spark plug socket in there, but I'll see if I can get a pic when I'm working on it next.

If they are original plugs they should have been changed 15k miles ago...
