Flywheel Resurface?

How much is this needed when replacing a clutch? Would it chatter bad if I skipped it when installing the clutch myself?

I would never install a new clutch on a used flywheel.

Just like I would never put brake pads on used rotors.

I guess you could...but I wouldn't.

Its all of $35 and well worth it.
I always heard if you don't it can reduce the life of the clutch, now i don't know it that's true but its enough for me to always to do it.

Okay, I'll bring it to a tranny shop and have them resurface it.

Good choice.

It will cause premature life for the clutch.

Now i think we have flat flywheels and not stepped, its been a long time since i machined them.
But sometimes I would get them in and they were beat on pretty hard and almost warped, took me about a hour to make sure it was flat again.
