If there's anyone that probably doesn't need it, it's the PD blower guys since they get to boost the fastest. Or at least you'd think.

Yeah true. But if you have the right tires, its all about launch. Being able to launch at say 10psi vs hold rpms at 4000, and slipping the clutch out and taking a couple seconds to actually get into boost could easily result into a half second or more.
If you dont have sticky tires for a 2 step, imo its pointless. All just for sound.

This ^^^^^. 2 step is wonderful for launch consistency on a manual but you must have a car that will hook or it's a waste of time and money.

To add to what has been said:
A 2-step is a must for cars looking for consistency (auto or manual). You can't launch the same way twice in a row (unless you're leaving at idle and really...who wants to do that). An SCT 2-step cuts fuel. It has been debated back and forth whether this is safe or not. The proponents of it say that it cuts fuel completely. No fuel = no detonation. I will say that it isn't the greatest at holding RPMs. You can't pull up to the line and mat the gas. If you do that, the RPMs will jump from 200-300 above the limiter to 200-300 below. So...while it's better than nothing, it's not as good as it could be. Aftermarket 2-steps (MSD, N2MB) cut spark. This is better on the motor, but hell on cats (so yank 'em out). These are also a lot better at holding RPMs. With any 2-step you don't want to be on it any longer than is absolutely necessary to launch your car. I also think it's kinda dumb to get any 2-step just for the sound.

MSD, WOT Box, and RaceLogic all cut spark, not fuel. The SCT and Sniper programs cut fuel, which I would not recommend using.
My RaceLogic system also has sensors for tire slip, so it'll actually continue to vary the RPM and resolution/frequency at which spark is cut until it senses that grip is achieved when launching. On street tires this is pretty sweet since most 2-steps are fairly useless on the street (you can do a heavy burnout if you just do a WOT launch with the 2-step at 2000 RPMs).

You bring up the RPMS to the desired point, it holds the rpms, your foot is to the floor, you release it and away you go.
