Calipers & Rims Issues

My situation:

This past summer, I replaced all my rotors, lines, pads with new blank rotors, hawk pads, and braided lines.

Within the last week or so my front left caliper just siezed up and now Im going to have to replace both front sides. I don't have that much "play" money to upgrade but would be willing to cough up money if so.

If I was todo the cobra brakes would they be able to clear my 17 inch stock rims? (see below)

Stock Rims

I also have a set of 18 American Racing Rims.... they should def clear those correct?

The brake kit I was looking at was: 1994-04 Mustang SVE 13" Cobra Style Front Brake Kit at LRS - Free Shipping!

Otherwise I was looking at going with stock calipers:

2003-2004 Ford Mustang Brake Caliper - W0133-1600955 PBR - Front Right Brake 03-04 Mustang Brake Caliper - PartsGeek.com

2003-2004 Ford Mustang Brake Caliper - W0133-1600893 PBR - Front Left Brake 03-04 Mustang Brake Caliper - PartsGeek.com

Mainly I am concerned about Rim Clearance of Cobra Calipers on my rims listed & pic.

*Reps for help

I see no issues with the Cobra brake calipers being cleared by the 18" wheels, but not all 17" wheels will clear the calipers of 13" rotors.

I would call Ford and ask, as the parts dept. would very likely know either way. If you MUST replace both calipers anyway, I recommend you go with the Cobras. They are a bit stronger and will offer a bit more cooling and look good, as well.

Thanks. Reps

So..... its just the left caliper. Do you think it would be okay too just to replace that side caliper and rotor only???

They will work great with those wheels. I had those same exact wheels. I ran them about two years with 13" Cobra brakes without any problems.

Reps for staying on topic. See that's what I don't need. More issues..... With either braking or steering. I don't think it'd look wierd, calipers aren't even dirty nor rusty.

Jazz watcha think?? Btw it's making spend reps before I could rep you again good sir.

As was answered earlier, you have to change them in pairs. Even if you were not changing the caliper and rotor you would still change the brake pads in pairs.

Cobra calipers will require Cobra rotors, so you need to consider that IMO, if you need calipers anyway, and you do, I would go the extra $$$ for a set of Cobras. You're looking at, what... $100????

Haha I just meant if the left caliper is blue and the right one is red or something not that you would do that

Go with the cobras, they might be a little more but they will be worth it in the end..
