Wiring my BAP?
Okay so I tried to read up on the web and instructions on installing my bap. First off I didn't know it had a vacuum activation line. But I did read that most do not use it. If I choose not to use it, what activates it? It's seems like an easy install, but I just wonder how you guys are putting them in. Where are you guys putting the control switch, also?

Yeah its pretty simple.
Take the loom off the fpdm wiring. And cut the pink wire with black stripe about 6" down. Take the fused red wire from the bap, solder it to the pink wire going IN to the fpdm. The other red wire from the bap, solder that to the other piece of the pink with black stripe wire that you cut. Black is obviously ground. Then for a switch, I have a dial. I believe it reads 0-50 rich and lean. I cant remember. Then its just like an auxillary cable that goes into that, and all done.

the wires going to the hobs switch need to be tied together. this way the bap is activated. as for the ajustment dial, i would cut those wires and tie them together as well. once your car is tuned you wont mess with it, and leaving it running full time all the time for the fpdm is the proper way to wire the bap for returnless.

Oh, what about the vacuum line? I don't have it in front of me, sooo, is it already hooked to the bap? If so what to do with it |

no the vacuum line hooks into the hobs switch, then the long wire lume with bare ends connets to the hobs switch. you need to loop those wires together so you dont need to run a hobs switch.

If you wire pre FPDM you eliminate the Hobbs/boost switch and run the powerall the way up. The CPU will control the power going to the BAP. If it sees to little or to much it will correct by sending less or more to the FPDM which also means less power to BAP. That way you can use all the power from the BAP if needed. Plus the Hobbs switch cause hard offs and on's which can cause stumbling and missing.
I also reccomend a 10 gauge wire upgrade with a 40 amp relay.
