Transmission Cooler Recommendations

Hey everyone! I was wondering what transmission coolers you guys recommend. I have an 02 GT. I'm also looking at buying a trans temp gauge. What tranny coolers and what brand of gauges do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance.

Any trans cooler will work and I would go with a name brand gauge for any and all of them you wish to change or add. The auto parts store brand gauges can work good but not any that I have had. I have to buy my third temp gauge thanks to oriley. So I would not recommend them. I can not even tell u what my temp is anymore. It was always on the cold side. Now it dont work at all.

Alright thanks man. I've been looking at a few brands of gauges. Mainly Auto Meter and Pro Comp.

I would recommend that when you do run your cooler you run it from it from your transmission to the factory cooler in the radiator and then into your transmission cooler. This helps bring your trans temp up to operating temp and allowing the lock up on your transmission to work properly, if not when cold your lock up will not work properly.... I also installed a inline temp gauge port between the trans cooler feeding the transmission.... As far as a cooler goes I bought the biggest bar and plate cooler that also came with a fan on it from jegs(jegs brand)

Go with a B&M cooler. They are the best tranny coolers out there. Have one for my 4r70w that sees over 1000hp.

What size did you put in your car? I've got to order a cooler in the next couple of days as well. Do you have a transbrake in your 4r? What's the stall on your converter?

I have no idea how to compare the heat generated from your 4r lockup converter and my non-locking c4 converter...just trying to get an idea how much heat you're generating.
