Bypass? lose of boost


Hey guys yet another problems outta the stang, i belive my bypass valve has go out on me, the valve isnt closeing any more... i called procharger they suggest the BIG RED bov? anyone use this? little pricey... does anyone happen to have bypass or bov layin around they wanna sell? or any links to cheaper parts that will work?

Which one do you have? The black "Pro-Flow"? That one never fully seals 100% even when brand new but the boost loss is negligible. If you want to test it ... put a D battery in it's place or something similar and clamp it down tight. See if you boost goes up. (Don't keep it in there though as long-term compresser surge would hurt your head unit.)

The Big Red is a nice piece ... but it's not really neccessary until you're making a bit of power. I still have the Pro-Flow but I might be upgrading soon.

I have the old school one, its a metal pipe with the valve attached to it the vavle is gray but I looked at the valve and it dosent close at all..

Just checked it again and the valve shuts off and on, i rev it up it stays ope i rev up a few more times and itll close once then i rev up again it says open..

I just upgraded to a Tial one. I had the metal one you have now. It still works fine tho. If you want it. I'll give it to you if you just pay shipping..
