Idle RPM Spike
I have an '01 GT, 4.6L SOHC 95,000 mi, Automatic, no mods to it.
My car will start and idle around 1100-1200 rpm, drop to 1k then down to 800 or so while it's in park. Then when I shift it into drive my rpms spike a little then back down. It will run fine on the road but when idling it spikes occasionally. I changed the IAC, cleaned the TB and cleaned the MAF sensor. After I changed my IAC a service engine light came on. I unhook the MAF and the light is still on. Maybe a TPS? |

The light will not go off until cleared so that should not be your reference point.

I would assume that you need a new MAF.
