Running 265/40 on Stock 17" Rim

From what research I've done, I can run this on my rears. Would it suck tho? I know it would "look" better on a larger rim but I'm saving up for boost.

Oh, I thought they were only 8" wide rims. No wonder I couldn't find a thread!

EDIT: They are 8".. I read the edit in the other OPs post.

Oooo... I might have to do that instead. I didn't know you could go that wide.

Yup that's pretty much the limit on the stockers. One of my friends is running 275 nitto's on his stock rims. He's kenne bell'ed putting 480 to the ground and has no traction issues.

Even stock, the 255's I have are hard to keep a hold, granted they're just Hancook Ventus V12s.. And looking at it further, 275/40R17s are only .1% off on ratio so they're a perfect match for stock diameter.

Yeah, if you don't want to have traction issues, don't cheap out when buying tires!!

Stick with 245's on 8" wheels or get wider ones

Yeah, I've been looking, I've currently got 255's on it and after considering everyone elses input on the subject, that's as wide as I'll go. In the future I'll get wider rims in order to get that stance.
