check engine light, i need some help

ok since i am new to the new edge mustangs, i thought my cel might have been from fixing my exhaust leak that was leaking for who knows hong long before i bought the car, well on my way home from work i stopped at advance so they could scan it and tell me whats wrong, i have a hesitation under load that comes and goes. the scanned came up with 2 codes, a P0455 evap light leak detected and a P0442 gross leak detected no flow. what does this mean? and could it be my hesitation problem? i did notice last weekend i filled the tank for the first time and it leaked about a cup of gas overnight where i parked it. when i have 3/4 of a tank i get a real strong gas smell from the rear when i come back from a drive and shut the car off. my lincoln has an evap tray under the trunk and they are notorious for having problems. does anyone know what i should look for or has anyone had these same codes and fixed them? if so what did you have to do. i appreciate any help.

Here are the possible causes and diagnosis tips for P0455, and same for P0442...

thats what i am thinking too because like i said last weekend when i filled it, it was running down the plastic tank shield from the pass side of the tank, and dripping off toward the back right corner of the tank near the pass side tail pipe. i guess i have to get under it to see whats going on. when its on my buddies lift getting the diff rebuilt and gears installed this weekend i will check out the tank, the evap tray and the hoses. do you think this would be causing the stuttering under load? i just put brand new plugs in it too. i want to put 8 new coils on it but they dont give those things away!!

an evap leak will not cause any stuttering issues. while it's on the hoist throw a new fuel filter on it.

the gaskets where the fuel filler tube go into the tank have had issues leaking, mine was leaking on my car when i bought it. those things are expensive too, you're looking at 30-40 for a ford one. luckily i get parts at cost so it only cost me 12 bucks haha.

That'll work--do you want flowers or donations to a favourite charity?
