Should the pedal have some play at the top when it is at rest? The engagement point is roughly half the length of pedal travel.

I just tried to see if the clutch would adjust. The cable must be where it needs to be because when I pulled up on the pedal, it would pull up an inch or so but no clicks even after depressing the pedal.
