At first I was gunna say you bought the wrong type of headers but it does look cast alum. So I am gunna have to +1 the intake theory

Its a fr500C intake from one of those grand am mustangs. Guy said he had a spare (bad) motor laying around and didn't need two intakes. Now im working on trying to get the heads. Plan is to have adapters made so I can use this intake with R/GT/GT500 style heads on my 5.4 based motor and lay out over 500hp na. Problem is that this intake is huge and adapters will make it taller by enough that I worry about being able to find a hood.

Ford Mustang FR500 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ford Racing FR500C - 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords Magazine

Cant get the intake by itself, you have to buy the whole cammer engine. Which was a 5.0 boss block modular. Thats why they are so rare. Someone had to buy either the cammer engine, or a fr-500, then sell the intake. the fr500c intake fits 5.4 4v heads. '00R, Ford GT, GT500. The fr500 intake fits the 3v heads, with a 5.0 boss block.
Very hard to come by, and make very good power N/A. The horns inside it are removable and shorter ones are availiable for tuning.
Great intake, but more geared towards full race applications.

This intake is for Ford gt gt 500 or cobra r heads on a 4.6 based motor. The fr500c motor is a big bore 4.6 so it is a 5l. Its a great intake that you can customize to change your powerboat. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

That intake should be sent to Todd for a little freshening
