Help! need crankshaft info.

OK, I bought a crank out of a 2000 GT thinking that it was a cast 6- bolt crank. As usual, I F'ed up (I think). Did the 2000 model GT have a cast 8- bolt crank? I hate this- the crank is flawless, but I've got a brand new aluminum flywheel that fits a 6-bolt crank.

Been doing some reading on it. Looks like the romeo's came with a 6 bolt cast crank, and the windsor's came with both the 6 bolt and 8 bolt cast crank.

I remember reading somewhere that the 99-mid 01 cars had an 8 bolt crank, but can't for the life of me find it again, so I don't know if its true or not.

Sorry to hear about it man, anyway you can swap out the flywheel or the crank to get them to match?

I would swap the crank before I swapped the flywheel unless I could trade even for another aluminum flywheel.

'99-mid '01 GT's did come with a 8 bolt style crank regardless...after later '01 ford had to have romeo plant to produce the GT motors as well and thats when GT's started to come with 6 bolt style cranks...to top it off the Windsor and Romeo blocks were different in the sense of their web castings and one other thing i cant really remember....but yeah anyways that sorta sucks that you got the wrong crank their acmillr.
