Just though I would share my winter project.. Almost done! What I did this winter was ball joints, inner + outer tie rod ends, wheel hub assemblies, brakes, smoked head lamps, dyed complete interior (vinyl, leather, and plastics), painted front grill black, painted hood scoop grill + side scoop grills red, and now all that is left is installing my new strut/shock kit, finished touches/ extra coats of dye on interior, painting calipers red, and an alignment! More pictures to come on friday when im all finished

The auto shop who told me they couldnt align my camber/caster perfectly was right.. my strut tower was severely damaged due to a wreck from a previous owner but I got it pretty close to normal now I just hope its alignable.

A couple peel ups from not perfectly prepping but wont be hard to fix when I throw 2nd coat on entire interior. (Going from tan interior to black RAL 9005 btw.) http://www.parasolinc.com/Products.asp?ProductID=VARIKOTE

--- Oh and now that Ive reaplaced tie rods, ball joins, shocks and struts it appears that my car is sitting lower to the ground? anyone know why this may be? I can only fit about 3 fingers in my fender well (Maybe not even 3 fingers).. It sits as low as my moms little solstice lol

Well the dye was pretty expensive.. its the same price for plastic, vinyl, and leather dyes for varikote, leatherkote, and varikolor its 99.00 per quart and 329.00 for a gallon.. but to do a complete interior dye job I bought 3 quarts. 2 of varikote and 1 of leatherkote for the seats and I still have over 1/2 of the leatherkote left and about 1/4 of the varikote left. I put 2 coats on all vinyl and plastics and 3 coats on the leather seats.

It was definitely worth it! I would recommend using parasols products (varikote, varikolor and leatherkote) to everyone who wants a proffesional finish. They guarantee it wont peel chip or crack and Ive already put the seats and vinyl to the test and it holds EXTREMELY well!

Expensive but superior quality

**Oh and they also sell in pints.. not sure exact price i think it was in the 60.00 range

How hard was it to take dash/console area out to spray? Door panels and back vert panels are a breeze. Have the parchment interior and would love to go triple black. You did a great job!

Well guys, I have some bad news. DONT TRY TO DYE THE INTERIOR! None of it! Atleast not with that product. I did everything right and it held up great until this summer. The heat made it sort of crack up (dry up) all over and the leather seats had the dye pealing off like rubber. I tried touching up areas but it was no use it would just come right back up. Then come July I moved to Florida (Big heat increase compared to Ohio), and it was all over. The interior now looks like sht and in some spots feels very coarse and rough. Like a bunch of tiny tiny little bubbles, like a fine grit sandpaper.

So now I am forced to buy all new interior completely from dash to seats maybe even carpet, havent decided. I'm not sure what went wrong but they do guarantee it not to crack, chip, or peel so I'll be contacting them for some reimbursement hopefully.
