Anyone have experience with eBay lowering springs?

I'm looking to get some lowering springs and decided to check out eBay. They have some really cheap bargain brands, but I don't know if they handle well at all. I don't have a lot of experience with springs so does it really matter? They're just springs.

Anyone have any of those eBay bargain springs to give your input? I may just wait and get a set of Eibach or another known brand if it makes a difference. Maybe I'll get a kit that includes control arms.

Springs are an important part of your suspension. Although I have never used and off brand spring I would suggest buying a reputable spring setup. Steeda, eibach, bbk, ext

Yeah so I figured. I know they have different ratings too and I have a feeling eBay springs would be flimsy and do little more than lower the stance.

Ford springs are great and only $180. I have the "C" spring and love it.

Same here love them. Its not completely slammed and they give your car a slight rake.

I'm looking at a decent drop in height. I like the aggressive look and already go slow as can be over speed bumps and such. Just don't want to be as low as so many Hondas I see

Are these what you guys have? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-5300-C/ About how much lower would you say they made the car?

I'm really thinking about saving a bit and getting this or something similar, maybe from Steeda: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EIB-38144-880/

Yeah I dunno what the deal is. AM has them listed as a 1.25 inch drop in front and back. I don't know what that will look like with my rims, they're 18 inch. And I kind of like the slammed look though, I really don't know how much I would like driving that. I gotta think about it I guess.

I like the look of these http://www.americanmuscle.com/eibach...-7904gtv6.html and the drop is pretty good. About how low can I go without needed CCs?

I bought some of the 80 dollar lowering springs off of ebay about 6 months ago.. I put them on an 87 mustang GT and a 94 mustang GT.. they were horrible.. the front was way lower then the back.. the front on the 87 gt was dragging the tires against the fenders.. on the 94 mustang it lowered the front way to much and it was dragging on every single thing possible. Not to mention both were alot higher in the rear.. They were horrible in my opinion.

I saw. The H&M springs are 1.5 incher lower, while the Eibachs I'm looking at on AM are 1.7 inches lower in the front though so I guess it'd be just a hair lower. I think I'm going to go with those.

[EDIT]

Just saw that they have a whole bunch of different lowering heights for the H&R springs. I think I may get the 1.75 front 1.6 rear. Which ones do you have?

I'd recommend H&R supersports. I love mine and the drop is perfect. You being an s197 guy that may change though.

I ordered the DNA blue springs, they have too much body roll for my liking and give it that floating feel at higher speeds, lower than stock does, and mine did same thing as the other guy, the rear was about a good inch taller, I ended up cutting them to level it out.
