tire and wheel question

a quick question, before i asked what was the biggest tire size you could fit on a 17x9 mach 1 wheel and the answer was 275's. well upon looking on the mach 1 registry it says there 17x8. can anyone confirm what the stock wheels actually are, and if there 17x8 what does that make the new biggest tire for the rear that i can put on them. thanks for you guys time.

Stock size for a Mach 1 wheel is 17x8. You can still fit a 275 size tire on there.

yup, to go to a 315 you will need a 10 or 10.5

That is about the cheapest you wil find them, especially in chrome with the big boy 10.5" in the back. You may be able to find them a little cheaper if you google search enough. If you email them you can even ask them if they'll give you a deal on a wheel/tire package. Then you get free mounting and balance. You just have to put the wheels on and get an alignment.

you can run a 275 front and a 315 rear easy. if you take the quad shock off you can run a 335.

neckbonekat why does he have to get an alignment? all he is changing are wheels and tires he isnt lowering it any.

...But he is changing the width of the tire which will ride differently and affect the handling some. There are people that put on new wheels and don't get an alignment, but I would if I were you.

if his tires are wearing fine right now it wont matter what width he is going too. a spindle that has the correct caster/camber will still have the correct caster/camber regardless of a different tire/wheel width. the only time that you have to change it is when the vehicle is lowered because now you have a shorter spring that affects the caster/camber of the spindle.

i had 17x8 with the stock tires (245) on my car when i got it. went to a 17x9 front(275), then an 18x9 front(275) and i also have a 15x4 skinny and i dont have to get it realigned. there is no pulling or anything. the only thing that i can notice is when i go to the different tires cause biasply slicks dont really have stiff side walls.

That's cool, but like I said it is his choice. I'd advise it.
