shift point


i know this has probebly been asked but i have a stock 00gt ang when i race i shift at about 6100(300) past redline and last night i raced a stock 00gt and he had me off the line but missed a shift, then i was talking to my friend who has a 96GT and he told me i should shift at 5200-5300 Help!

your buddy with the 96 is giving you a good shift point if u were npi like he is, but ur not, ur pi. rev ur baby out to about 6-6100, anything sooner and u wind up not hitting ur peak. 96-98 loose a dramatic amount of power after 4800, but not so with 99-04. They breath better at the upper rpms, thanx to a better intake and smoother flowing cam.
