32V 5.4 Licolin Navigator engine

So some of you may know i blew my engine wile on nitrous very annoying and expensive. But iv found a Lincoln Navigator engine and have been told i can swap it in relatively easily into my car. This is a truck engine though so how would it be compared to our 4.6 for preformance? I had a full exhaust with a OR x pipe Magnaflow mufflers and a big cold air intake. I know this engine has lots of torque but i want my car to accelerate and go! Would the mechanic be able to mabie change the engines dynamics so its more of a car engine versus truck wile putting it in? Mabie less torwue more hp? Do you think 350 hp from this would be even possible

thanks very much hope you can help as im wanting to go buy an engine from he scrap yard asap!!

its the same basic principal as the cobra r. they are strong stock to be putting in a mustang. a set of cams with a tune will get the power and torque where you want it. cams are a key to where and how power is put down.

Torque is for acceleration, torque is what moves your car forward faster, Horse Power is for Top Speed. So even though you want more HP, you definatly dont wanna get rid of any TQ either. So just do what Sweet said!

Maybe you worded that wrong or maybe you just don't understand the principles behind HP/TQ. Either way, that was some pretty good misinformation.
TQ is power. (period) HP is only a calculation of how fast TQ can be made. Basically, you make alot of TQ and be able to achieve max TQ in as small a window of time as possible.

On the subject, the Lincoln Navigator engine should serve you well, because it is not an engine built strictly for pulling. It is made with daily driving in mind, and you wil probably be surprised at the amount of TQ you will be able to rapidly put to the back tires.

The intake manifold on the 5.4 truck engines is what changes the dynamics of the motor from what I have heard, so It may be the same with the Navigator engine. Also I think stepping up to the 4V will be great for you, but I personally like the challenge of the 2V and getting large numbers out of it! The 4V will flow much more air than the 2V and therefore can make more power! I also think that if you were to put some C casting heads on there with a matching intake you would have a wicked motor! ( I dont know if the heads would work because C casting cobra heads are for the 4.6, but it should work on a 5.4) Any way it will be a good motor for you and it would be relatively easy!
