Auto vs. Manual

I have been pondering for quite some time on whether I should get rid of the auto I have and upgrade to a performance manual transmission (easier said than done), or build up the auto I have. I would really like to have my car be a manual, but unfortunatley I didn't have that option because the car was handed down to me. Keep in mind that I plan on adding a supercharger w/9-20 psi in the future along with many other goodies. (Expect 500-650hp...or even more. )

Any suggestions would be appreciated guys.

a built auto will always out perform a manual on the track.

but I prefer driving a stick imo.
much more fun

yes it will work, I believe that the viper spec requires a new flywheel (don't quote me on that, but something needs to be changed), but plenty of people do it. It's really not that big a deal to do an auto-manual swap. if you are going to do that, the t-56 is the way to go. some others may have more info on doing the swap than me.

Thats a pretty decent price for those t-56's. How much power and torque can they handle...The link really doesn't tell you much.

It has a 650lb-ft. capacity...which is WELL then enough to survive the punishment we probably put our trans through...and with the kit it comes with the necessary parts to fit the trans...not to sure if it comes with the necessary clutch components to mate with the motor though.

if you want to play, get a manual. otherwise just stay with the auto, get a tuner to fine tune the trans setup, get some work done on the internals, a 3600 stall, and a set of 4.10's. you will out launch any manual, and be consitently faster than one too. if you go manual, i recomment the tko. if you want a t56, get one built with a 2.97 first gear.

I've got the viper-spec T-56 for my car and I plan on putting down 800-900rwhp. The guy at D&D told me they would handle 1000-1200 fwhp

So with that kit did you get the tranny, driveshaft, and install kit? If so, what is in the install kit (what components does it include)?
