i was reading one of the posts a couple days ago and someone mentioned a noticeable loss in acceleration since hes owned the car. what type of power loss is associated with an aging engine? i have an 03 gt with 60k, should i be worried about power loss soon?

you will be fine. like hmusn said, just keep up with your normal maint, and will be ok.

when you do your general maint, what kinds of things do you do and check?

that sounds about right. i always add some fuel injector cleaner every other oil change. lucas fuel injector cleaner works good. you add it to a full tank of gas and call it a day. pretty simple. other than that, sounds like you got everything under control.

but really wildsteeda is right, make sure you change out your fuel filter, it's like $25 to change and you'd be amazed how much gunk builds up in there.

Keeping up on the maint is pretty easy. Make sure you are using good quality products. Make sure you are changing your oil on time or a bit early. I would also replace your fuel filter once a year. Have all other fluids maintained. Also at every oil change i also add a bottle of lucas fuel treatment.. Its a little bottle but the stuff works wonders. Sea Foam is also a good product that i hear about ( havent tried it yet). Besides that you are doing good. Our engine are good for 200K plus if you keep the maint up.. I am presonally at about 115K right now and mine is like it was off the delivery truck.

either one is just as good for normal driving. if you're going to drive your mustang like most people who own one do, i would suggest full synthetic, either royal purple, castrol, mobil 1, and i hear quaker states full synthetic is pretty good too. you might add a bottle of lucas oil treatment in with your oil change too.

I use lucas... Should I use the lucas synthetic if I'm using synthetic oil, or can I use regular?

I suggest you use Luas synthetic with Mobil1 or Royal Purple. Personally, I run 5 quarts of Mobil1 and 1 quart of Lucas synthetic. I also run 100% Lucas synthetic in my rear end.

Thanks for the suggestion but, I'm sorry, I don't know what Luas is, and how does your "rear end" feels with such lubrication?
