Fuel injectors

I have a 99 Stang GT with BBK X-pipe, MagnaFlows, and some CAI i got from a friend with an 04. I also picked up some 42 lb injectors from him for about $200. I've been waiting on the fuel pump from him for a while, and this brings me to the question. Can I just put the the fuel injectors on now with the stock fuel pump, or do I need to wait for the pump and get it tuned? It is my fun daily driver.

The last thing you want is to have your engine damaged by detonation and ruining your stock pump. Patience is a virtue.

You are going to be dumping fuel out of the tail pipes at idle if you don't have big plans for your motor.

My friend told me it would give me more HP. Forgive me, but I've been wanting a Stang for about ten years, and I just got this one. So I'm a super newbee. So tell me, do I really need them? I've raced a 95-96 SS Impala, a Daytona Hemi Charger, and some slow ass Camaro on the interstate, and beat them all, but I want it to be faster. Also, my car max out at about 125 mph, what can I do to overcome this?

I don't understand- this question comes up constantly. Why do all these people think that adding bigger injectors is going to give you power.

For the love of God, Stop the madness!!

injectors support more power, not add any! the stock injectors will support around 350rwhp before they start straining.

your car is goverened by the computer.

get a tuner to fix your speed limiter.

the 42 pound injectors you don't need right now.

fuel injectors don't give you more power. they just allow you to dump more .fuel if you need it. which you don't at this point

If they won't give me more power, anybody want to buy them? Basically, I only want to slowly get it up to Cobra specs if this possible.

I'm glad you cleared that up.

1.) Don't listen to what most people tell you. Every ricer on the planet thinks he's a pro mechanic.
2.) Lower rear gears will help you overcome the speed barrier.
3.) To fully help you, How much are you willing to spend?

I've been slowly adding stuff slowly, so usually about $300/month is what I have been spending.

at that pace, you can add nitrous in less than 2 months and get some serious results. Anyway, I'm not the one to give advice here.
