Cobra blown rear end

Well my friend blew out the rear end in her 04 Cobra last night. From what I can see just looking under the car it looks like just the cover broke where it mounts up. It looks like the wheel hop just snapped the mounting point on the back and broke the cover. It still rolls just fine so the gears are ok. Is this what usually breaks on these? And whats a stronger cover to invest in?

you will have to buy the cover from a stealership. i had the billet flow on my car when it still had the irs and it was a really nice piece. steeda's is the exact same and i think that when i bought mine the billet flow was a little bit cheaper.

here is my other piece of advice for you to tell your friend. DO A SOLID SWAP he wont regret it.

How in the hell do you get the cover back on without dropping all the suspension? It came out easy (in pieces that is) Man I hate IRS, such a pain in the ass, shitty weak design Ford deserves a slap for that one..sorry just ranting a lil bit.

hahaha best way to do it is drop the rear irs cage out then go from there.

again another reason to hate the irs you cant even freaking work on the damn thing without pulling the entire thing. another thing about them that i hate is that you cant get to the fuel filter to change it out....

Yea...screw IRS I dont wanna ever see that shit again Finally got it in after a few hours of cursing and a case of beer. Ended up disconnecting the driveshaft, tierod end, front and rear mounts for the diff and was able to squeeze it in. Oh yea cant forget to mention the broken off bolt at the top of the cover...that was fun too
