Bolt-On GT vs. Mach 1 w/intake

So what would win in a race?

My GT: MAC CAI, Summit 70mm TB, TrickFlow Plenum, Spec Stage 2 Clutch, Steeda Tri-Ax, UPR O/R X-Pipe, 31 Spline T-Lok with 8 clutches, 31 Spline Alloy Axles, FRPP 3.73, Diablosport Predator, Rear Seat Delete.

vs.

Friend's Mach 1: K&N Intake.

Last time we ran, I had an o/r x, clutch, and short throw. He beat me 2x, I won once (only because he didn't hook up at all.)

Based on the mods you listed I'd have to give it to the Mach 1.
With your 3.73's you'll probably get him on the line, but the fact that he is pushing out more ponies (not sure what you're running) will allow him to ease right by you. But the bottom line is that it all depends on who is driving.

You didn't say if he stock or not. You could easily add some more mods--supercharger, etc. and absolutely embarass the hell out of him.

yeah i figure we're within 15-20 hp of each other, and i have steeper gears. im pretty sure i'd win, but he does still have more hp... probablys just a drivers race the more i think of it. i just hate thinking my gt can just hang with a stock mach.

i beat the ones that i have raced at the track. it really comes down to a drivers race.

sorry but i don't really feel that you've got enough mods that would increase your output enough to take him unless he misses a gear assuming it's a manual otherwise if it's an auto he will hit his gears of course and most likely be able to keep a fender to half a cars distance on you. but good luck.

I don't think the newer Mach 1's even came with an auto. I've only seem them with manuals

Automagic tranny and IUP were the only options available on the Machs. They made some autos but 85% of them were 5 speeds.

I'll got with the Mach just cause I am biased.

ok then what else should i do to my car? i know i need ud pulleys.... control arms, subframe connectors... what else short of heads, cams, n2o, or a s/c

Well, since you've already upgraded your rearend to handle slicks, then get some slicks... That till be your best bet to get a huge jump on him and hopefully hold him off. If he's a great driver his car will be able to run low 13's... If your a great driver I would say the same with you if you were on slicks.

See I'm half expecting with some slicks and control arms to run low 13's. I'm a decent driver but once I get a hang of how to launch it I'm hoping to dip into the high 12's

i thought the mach1 has 4v engine also and they push 305 just like the cobra??whoever said 250 is crazy...

i have been battleing my cousins mach for a long time...with my current mod i can hold with him up until third gear but then he pulls on me and thats without having gears...so i think you have a pretty good chance

Headers Are usually good for 20 hp......
