Engine rebuild

Some of you may know i managed to blow my motor 4.6 2v on a 100 shot wet spray. I looked into changing the motor to a 5.4 licoln engine but seemed to much work.
How will i get more power wile making my engine stronger internally? New cams bore it out? Iv had that recommended, I have 3 grand just! I dont know all the problems but i think its thrown a rod or piston? Something managed to hit a spark plug the mechanic said. He was saying i should change to a 302 ford engine but im sure our engines are better thats the 5 litre?? My goal is 350 at the wheels, as of now i have a x pipe no cats 2 magnaflow mufflers knn air intake and a new throttle body. Hope you can help!! i dont wana buy the wrong engine or put the wrong parts in!! So just thote on whats to do now i have my engine out of the car, and how to rebuld it to be stronger and make it have more powaaaaaaa!
thanks stephen

i say just buy a vt block and some forged internals.
port and polish your heads before you put them back on and call it a day
