Traction help!


yea so.. 1st post here. i am having traction issues at the track. i have an 02 gt. ported heads, cams, cai, cat delete package, 3.73 and lowered with a good tune. i have 275/40/17 on stock rims. i was wondering what i should do. i need slicks, but dont know what i should get. welds, american racing - m/t, hoosier. all help is appricated. ty

Get a set of 15X8 welds (pro-stars,draglites) with 5.5in backspacing and a set of 26/10.5/15 MT ET Streets or a set of 275/50/15 MT drag radials and run'em at about 13-15lbs. If you bog off the line either raise the air pressure in your tires or launch at a higher RPM because your tires should spin about 1/2 to 1 full turn. I would start off launching at about 4500 and see how that goes and your RPM's should not drop much if any when you leave the line.

will all thoes combos fit with it being lowered. all i did was cut 1 coil out form the springs.

i run the 26x10.5 e.t. street's on a stock v6 mustang wheel at 12psi. i launch at 4800 on motor, and 3500 on the bottle. i have the frpp c-springs on the car, and everything tucks just fine.

i was told control arms would help a bunch, but as i sit right now how should i launch the car with the tires i have?
