im from ct. its a not a tuning issue. theres somethere really wrong with the car. it only had a bassani catback. im driving it liek a baby. shifting at 2-2500 all the time. on a warm start the car turns over then immediately shuts off and backfires.

some PART is not functioning right. i know some stuff about fuel systems but not alot. i was inquireing that parts could be broken to make a car run that rich. a tune is not going to fix a busted injector or o2 sensor...

I'd start with the plugs and front o2 sensors. 02's could be bad and not triggering a light.

Im guessing by now you have gone through a few tanks of gas and actually know youre getting 10-12 MPG. Yes, check the plugs. Check youre air filter, check youre fuel filter. GIVE IT A TUNE UP.... How many miles? Check youre MAF. does it run good? Bad? Give us some more problems youre having. If you slowly accelerate does it feel good, if you get right into the gas and give her hell, does it skip, fall on its face. No lights on doesnt mean much, maybe the person you bought it from yanked the bulb. Because they too were having problems. Run a KOER test on it. Better yet, bring it to a dealership and let them run a few tests on it. Also you said on a warm start, it fires up and then dies right after>? Does it backfire, then die. Or die and backfire on its way out? Does the car still have cats or not? Casper...

HEY! I had a problem similar to yours once. I had bottomed out pretty hard and nailed my catalytic conv..... it promptly shattered and lodged chunks of it all up and down my exhuast all the way into my mufflers. My exhaust was getting so hot it fried one o2 sensor and discolored my mufflers and the shielding on the bottom of my car. Plus it was melting pieces of the cat material and i know they withstand some intense heat. Get your car up on a rack and get under it. Do a bump test (bang on ur exhaust pipes along the length of them to include mufflers) to see if there are any loose items in your exhaust somewhere. Good luck man!
