trouble with a coil connector

OK i started to chang my coil connectors (boots) out on my 1999 mustang gt. OK here is the problem, the boot has a spring in it, the side the goes to the plug has some kind of resistor looking this that actually makes contact with the plug, this item is what connects the spring to the plug; well this part was broken (which has to be the problem i was having with my stang, but I dont know the name of this part, neither does any of the parts stores around here!!!! So does anyone know what this is called so i can order it???

this part did not come on the coil boot. does anyone else's stang have this piece of metal at the end of the spring that connects to the plugs, or is it just the spring inside the boot that connects to the plug?

those are aftermarket.... the stock ones use a coil spring on the inside, nothing else.

Go to autopartswarehouse.com and search for Dorman Spark plug wire boot. They include the springs. They aren't just springs. They are a highly conductive Nickel coated connection between the spark plug and the coil. Don't just stick a chunk of spring in it..
