gauge swap?

anyone ever swap out the in dash stock gauges for a set of autometer gauges like the cobra series or american platinum? do the gauges just swap right out or do i need to repurchase a new dash cluster? also, how difficult is it to do this swap? thanks for any input

Well the stock gauges arent exactly perfectly circular so im assuming youd need to make your own mounting bracket but it can be done
the best bet is to buy the autometer mustang cluster. pricey though

I have the Autometer Lunar Cluster and it was cake...

no, most of them are like 5/8 of a full circle, and i think it would be too much work for the bracket to hold them all than its worth. id just go with the lunar if you want autometer, if you want different, go with mach 1 or white face gauges.

No, the 2001 has a double din instead of 2 singles, and to make the 2001 dash bezel fit is a bitch. i tried and youd have to do a whole lot of fab work, i think
unless someone has done it?

Defrost button is in a different spot. And the look of the T/C button is different also.

well the normal stereo is called a single din slot, dont know why, but yeah this one has space for two if you wanted to, or one of those navigation systems, and mine is the 99-00 so it has the 2 single ones, so i cant put shit in them
