Is a CAI pointless on a Mach 1?

Hey all, I am new here and also pretty new to modding mustangs, I have an 03 Mach 1 and am interested in doing some bolt on mods (nothing major) and was telling a friend I wanted to put a cold air intake on my Mach. He said it was pointless because of the hood scoop? Is this true? If I do get a CAI would the scoop still function? I appreciate any help!

you can upgrade your intake tube and retain the functionality of your shaker kit with something like the JLT Performance Ram Air Intake for 03-04 Mach1 :wink

As an owner of a 2003 Mach1. The shaker is there mostly for looks.

I swapped out the stock air filter with a K&N and took off the air snorkel or silencer (whichever you prefer) per Mach 1 Registry.com... Should I just say screw the CAI or RAI on go for a pulley and exhaust?
