Is This Common?

Ok well i just got my GT a week ago and today i noticed a rattleing coming from under the body during acceleration... as the day went on, it got alot worse! It got so much louder and even occured or start up and when i turn it off. Its like some kind of tingy sound. I think its one of the cats in the x pipe. Theres only about 6000 miles on the x but this past week i've been reving it alot (showing my friends) and accelerating fairly fast. If this is what it is will i have to get a new x? and if anyone has any other suggestions as to what it is, please insight. Its a pypes catted x with pypes catback.... dont hate on it anyone haha, it actually sounds really good and i really like it, but i would like to remove the cats if that is what the sound is (o and the check enging light isnt on, doesnt that usually happen if cats are going out?).

no its not a note it produces... it just started today and its very very loud, its not a knocking like a thorwn rod but its a tingy metal on metal sound coming from the x pipe... and i have the 409 stainless pypes x-pipe w/cats, and409 stainless pypes voilator catback i'm 120% positive its not the mufflers... sounds like the right cat on the x-pipe.

I haven't had this in my Mustang but I had this problem on my Jeep and it was the cat coming apart in the housing. When I took the cat off and tiped it on its end all the sh** from inside fell out. Might want to check the cats or just take them off.

I think it should be that cat's comming apart. My friends Ram did this a while back and we just gutted the cat.

You should go and get an off road mid pipe.

What do you guy think?... Because i kno cats usually dont do this with only 4,000 miles or so on them. Do you think its because its pypes brand? I mean i'm not gonna dis them because i honostly love the sound, but they wern't like the most expensive brand i could go with, ya kno? Dont get me wrong they're not dirt cheap either... but what do you guys think? Is it just the brand? b/c i mean i drive it like its a stang, but not too crazy... maybe wot every 30th time i accelerate or 10th time i get on the interstate

I've always thought that pypes makes some pretty nice tems. Maybe it's just bad luck and you got a crappy set up... Did you purchase them, maybe there's a waranty that will replace it for free.

Do the simple thing first. Look under the car when its making the noise and find out EXACTLY where its comming from. Could be a heat shield or something simple.

I found out this is a similar problem for Mac Exhaust. They don't put out High flow cats for an 03 Cobra because the cats that they we distributing were pieces of crap and failed early. I currently have Kooks LT and HF cats on both on my cobras. So far so good!
