bad noise...

ok so for the past, oh month or two, i've been driving around with the horrible noise in the rear. at first everyone thought it was a diff bearing (thus the rear-end rebuild) because it only happened whenever the throttle was applied... turns out it wasn't that. so the other day some friends and i go back and lift my car and check everything out. turns out my mufflers are rubbing a little on my driveshaft, i have about 1/4inch clearance between my tubing and body... anyone ever had a problem like this? btw it all started when i raced a mach 1 and took off hard off the line.

so.... suggestions on what to do? just get a new catback? what about until then?

well you can either get a new cat back..

or take it to a muffler shop and see if they can refit it properly

Dude a muffler shop can probably just weld another hanger on the pipe and pull it away from the drive shaft. Cost I estimate $20 max. Dont try doing it in the drive way, it will be more of a pain in the ass then $20.

if you wanted Im sure someone here with a v6 might would swap you their rear bumper that has no cut outs for yours that does. Personally I think the no cut out look with no spoiler is sexy!
